About Saskatoon

Come and enjoy Saskatoon’s park like atmosphere with a rich hospitality sector to serve your needs and a culturally diverse environment that is sure to make your Grevers Eastside Tournament Weekend a memorable one.  Be sure to plan some time to visit the many attractions in Saskatoon that are available.

Saskatoon is Saskatchewan’s largest city with a population of approximately 233,923 (2006).  Nestled around the South Saskatchewan River, Saskatoon is the jewel of the prairies.  Gorgeous river views from over 200 acres of parks and trails along the banks of the river and the historic Bessborough Hotel, Saskatoon's "Castle" on the river, all contribute to the rich and culturally diverse flavour of Saskatoon. Within walking distance you can go from ultra modern offices and boutiques in downtown to the old world charm of the historic Broadway business district.  The legendary Bessborough Hotel graces the river banks in downtown Saskatchewan and a thriving downtown core has a somewhat European flavour enhanced by the Castle (Bessborough).

The historic and trendy Broadway business district has a variety of shops from a 50’s café to a modern New York style bistro and espresso bars and made in Saskatchewan boutiques.

Saskatoon is also home to the University of Saskatchewan, a virtual city unto itself that boasts some of the finest architecture on a beautifal campus.  Next door is Innovation Place, an ultra modern business park and home to many high tech research firms and technology shops.  Innovation place is also home to the Canadian Light Source.
